Ack! If you're talking about the block in the picture you took...I'm scared! It's beautiful and looks perfect!! Here's hoping it's only because you didn't wash it or else I'm in trouble

Still working on finding my pattern....pulled all the blues and whites out at least. Deciding is always the hardest part (for me).

LoriJ 12-31-2008 06:52 AM

Nah, the first one seemed to work out fine, but the second was giving me fits. I decided I was NOT having any fun, so it was off to the 'puter to find another pattern that was more fun to make.

My mailing address has been posted in the instructions on the first page.
Please go there to get it when you are ready to mail your blocks..

For the international girls, we still need to come up with a process for you to send money for your return postage...

Judy

Butterflyspain 12-31-2008 09:48 AM

Okay Judy, think I have solved the problem. Do you have a Paypal account. the process is really simple if you have. Simply give me your Paypal email address and I can send you the money. Have looked into it and it is really simple.

However if you haven´t Iwill put my thinking cap on again.

Ok, so here's the block I settled on doing. Much less discontent doing this one instead. Hope you like.

mgshaw 12-31-2008 11:54 AM

very pretty Lori!!!! My sample block came out perfect, so I started sewing monday, did all the units before putting any blocks together, the first one I did put together is 1/8" too small. Now I dont know if I just messed up on this first one or if all of them are going to be too small!!!!!!! I was having trouble with one particular point on each unit. So maybe that is where my problem is. Now do I rip everything apart or just start over? Arrrgh!!!!! So frustrating!!!!!!

Butterflyspain 12-31-2008 12:16 PM

Oh how I do agree when it some tomeasurig those blocks and they are out by 1/8" .

LoriJ your block looks great. love the fabric.

Just letting you know that 1/8" is within my margin of error...I wont send them back for that...

sandpat 12-31-2008 04:23 PM

Lori, that block is really pretty too!

I still haven't gotten back to mine from taking it apart where the paper patterns didn't match up..got sidetracked on DH's quilt.

Here is a test block which I will NOT be using... Actually the colors do look pretty together but, it takes me entirely too long to make this one and when I looked at it finished I think that the outer part makes the block look on point and wouldn't play well with other star blocks..so this one will turn into something else.

Oh But, I really like this one

Butterflyspain 01-02-2009 12:34 AM

Its really pretty, but I know what you mean about taking a long time. However, as you do more you will get quicker. I started of taking 2 hours for 1 block but now I can do 2 in 3 hours. Its taking that darned paper off the back that takes the time LOL

I found a really easy one called Godey´s Star, See what you think. It was going to be my next one if this one didnñt work out.

Elle

sandpat 01-02-2009 05:13 AM

Thanks Judy..

Elle, I could live with 2 hours easily!!! I really don't know how long it took. I tried working on it during the holidays and I could only do a little here...a little there..I know it took 2 days but have no idea how long each day. Anyway, I think I'll try another

KGoodhand 01-02-2009 07:24 AM

I think we came up with the idea that I was just going to send you the money for the return postage. If that is still okay with you that works well for me. Just let me know. Thanks!

Great, problem solved. I have just the 12 blocks (on no. 9 at the moment), so it shouldn´t be too much.

I love all these stars I am seeing!! I am starting mine this week! I feel so far behind! I am so excited to do this and actually make something for me! I finally got my pattern and material finalized this week!
I am looking forward to seeing which stars I recieve!
If my camera is working I will try to get one posted this week for you to see. Seeing all this beautiful work is making me nervous! I have only been quilting for a little over a year now!

sewsewquilter 01-04-2009 10:32 AM

Love your star. All of the stars are very lovely. All these stars are going to make a lovely quilt.

KGoodhand don't be nervous. :D I'm sure your star will be great.

mgshaw 01-04-2009 11:35 AM

Everybodies are so PRETTY!!!! I got mine fixed & finished today finally!!

K, here is my block for the exchange. I don't think anyone else is doing the same one, if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll find another one

This is the first one, so 11 more to go.
It's not paper pieced, so my points don't all match up very well, but I'm sure I can correct that on the other 11.

BTW, I still want to do one that has more than just 2 colours in it, so I may in fact, change my mind later on, lol!

Very Pretty Melanie!!! If you want more than two colors, you could do the pinwheel in the center a second blue, just an idea :D

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 01-04-2009 02:44 PM

Ya, I was thinking about that :)

*sigh*, back to the drawing board, this one is 12" even, unfinished :? :x

Sandpat - that is beautiful - looks hard and like it take a lot of time.

sandpat 01-04-2009 05:22 PM

Beachlady, it isn't and it doesn't....I've almost completed my 2nd one this afternoon...with lots of the usual interruptions.

ok, slight change of plans, folks. And by slight, I mean major.

This one ACTUALLY measures 12 1/2" unfinished, I measured the templates, and then the finished block. I wasn't leaving any room for error this time.

ETA: oh yeah, the block is called "Night and Day"

beachlady 01-04-2009 05:55 PM

Gorgeous!!

Butterflyspain 01-05-2009 12:09 AM

Patti, That is gorgeous, I like that one a lot, another I hope I am lucky enough to get.

Baren-ked... Beautiful, love it

Well done, I think everyone have really created wowsers for this project.

sandpat 01-05-2009 04:51 AM
