I finally got one of mine done. Only 11 to go! :)
The blue fabric was one that jumped out at me. Can you see the fish? It also has birds but I don't think any made it into this block. [ATTACH=CONFIG]67046[/ATTACH] |

Everyone's star blocks are so beautiful!! I guess it is time for me to get off the pot and start working on mine!! First I need to decide on a pattern--not an easy task after looking at all the gorgeous ones here!!!!

Ok I have finished 12 of these..... I know I have another spot.. I will begin those maybe tomorrow.. or later in the week. After seeing all everyones I had to get busy doing something!

I've been reading the thread and drooling over the gorgeous blocks, both simple and complex.... they're all stunning. Any quilt made with these is going to look stunning. I've been trying to decide if I could get 12 done in time for international post, and I don't think it would happen. I wish I'd discovered this earlier, Blue is my favourite colour and I'd love a blue and white quilt! Can't wait to see the finished quilts. :-) |
I'm really bummed. I had to wanted to participate. I have the fabric out, picked the patterns. I made a few of two different patterns and I'm not happy with the result. They are just not good enough quality to exchange. Now I don't know if I have lost steam. I've so enjoyed seeing the beauties that so many of you have created. So, while I decide, keep on sewing the blues.

Oh come on Sara... you still have plenty of time....just breath deeply and dive in again. This time...sew slowly and use lots of pins...(thats my secret and I'm stickin' to it :wink: ) Gee...I hope mine are good enough..well...they will just have to be. :roll:

Ok everyone, I got a message from Judy and I will just copy it straight from the email so I dont leave anything out.
Since I can no longer post to the message board, I have asked Melissa to act as the point of communication for the exchange. Just let me say to you that I am committed to completing the projects which I have started here and that I assure you will have the ability to my contact information at any time through Melissa until the projects have been completed. I have received blue and white blocks in the mail today from LoriJ, gcathie, and littlehud. I have been thinking about how to be fair in who gets whose blocks. So, I have decided it will be based on when I receive them..If there is something that really sticks out in a set of blocks, I may change one or two, but it is my intention that it will be random. Thank you all for supporting this exchange. You will all create some beautiful quilts, I'm sure. Judy |

Me too, Think they will be made into one very special quilt, may add some applique (as is my want). Others are going to add smaller stars I hear.
Any other ideas from all you star block makers ? |
I'm thinking that I will use mine to make a sort of sampler quilt. I had thought that I would add some animal (puppy dog & kitties) to make it into a raffle quilt for our local animal shelter project. I don't really know...just have to wait to see what I get :lol:
