Keep your sewing area clear especially by the motor. Keep auxillary lighting soources away from machine( lamps) and blow out the motor with canned air when off. If you are running into a stich issue it is more likely another issue. Clean your machine completely, feel for hot spots when running, take to a service person if the machine is not returnable

Can't help you with your machine but I would do the all over meander with a black and white variegated thread.

Well lets hope not but if so its still under warranty! thank goodness, I just hate taking my machines into the shop. Letting her cool down to see if that helps.

I still think I would take it in to the shop just to be checked out, since it isn't that old, and under warranty. I would even if it wasn't under warranty. Better to have a professional check it out than to keep going and have other problems to ensue with it.

How old is your machine? It could be the feed dogs need adjusting or replaced. Anyway why not use a bright red to quilt it with. It would show up and give it a blast of color but not overpower it.

Been there, done that, used grey thread.
