She is the greatest. My Daughter and I took her barn class at the Road to Ca. last year. She also dod a lecture that was so much fun. I came out with my ribs hurting from laughing so hard.
Oh her class was wonderful and she had 2 wonderful gals that helped us with our problems. We also were lucky enough that she joined us for lunch the day of the class.
It was the first class that I went to that I it was really easy and like I said when I had a problem the helper gals were right there.
Once you take a class etc with her you get used to the voice. My husband says her voice is like finger nails on a chalk board. But she is a wonderful teacher and the nicest loving person that I have ever met.
If you get the chance to take one of her classes do it.

I have several of her books and two old videos! She is an excellent teacher and I have learned alot from her. Have made several of her quilts!!! Her voice drives my husband crazy!!!! :thumbup:

I have taken a few of her classes and was fortunate to be picked to go to her meet and greet in Paducah. She is a riot! Such a life story she has. And, her patterns are written very well and easy to understand!

I love Eleanor Burns. I have met her twice when AQS was meeting at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, and she is so nice and down to earth. Also, her son, Orion, was there, ad he was as nice as his mother.

I love Eleanor Burns, she is a hoot, if you ever get a chance to see her in person go for it. I have taken a class of hers in Paducah and she is very good at teaching and she if very down to earth and very personable. Her books are very easy to understand. I admire her for the sacrifices she has made. AQS did not used to recognize her as a quilting teacher but she hung in there and is now very recognized. IMO she is one of the best

When I took up quilting, after many years of sewing clothes and household items, her Log Cabin Book was my first quilt. It was easy to follow and informative. She has been very helpful and I like the vintage patterns that she has. I still use her books now, 20 years later.

But once I made a quilt from her book and started watching her on tv regularly, I got used her and now find her charming. I've also met her - took a class she taught and found her to be a lovely person.

So many times I've watched one of her videos and she's done some simple way of doing something and I just wanted to bang my head against a wall because it never would have occured to me to do it that way. And her methods are ALWAYS faster and easier. She's TERRIFIC.

I really love her too. Would love to meet her in person, everyone who meets her always says she is so SWEET in person, and very kind.
