I used comic book boards, got them at a comic book store.
It is so nice to have your fabric where you can see what you have. Here is Hattiesburg, I got 100 for $6.99 but ended up using over 700 of them. I did not put my fat quaters on them I have two baskets full of fat quarters. What can I say, I LOVE fabric. |

I've used sheets of foam core board....bought a box of them online and cut them down. WalMart has them - not too badly priced. There are excellent blogs on how to make these mini bolts to wrap the fabric around....

I get empty bolts from my LQS. Cut them in half with a box cutter, fold my fabric in half fold side to selvedge side and wind 'em up. They fit nicely on my shelves and free is good plus they aren't going into the trash. Win-win all the way around.

Wallmart sells foam core board. I cut it to the size I want. They have the kind that is acid free.

My DH cut me some cardboard (8x12) to wrap my material around, I then covered the cardboard in left over Christmas Saran Wrap. Then I went to Wal-Mart to the comestic department and purchased some hair clips that snap.
I saw clips almost just like this at a Fabric Store when I was in Texas, when I asked about the price, nearly fell over. So I said heck with it and just went to my local Wal-Mart. I purchased large sheets of plastic canvas at our Walmart and cut them into pieces approx. 7 x 11 inches. Then wrap my pressed fabric around them. They fit nicely in my bookcase.
