I got mine out of thr recycle bin at work, it is plastic that is shaped like cardboard. I just started turning the spare room to a sewing room so I did it cheap...I just had to cut it down.

Marie Osmond has some plastic mini bolt holders for fat quarters. You can buy them at Quilters Warehouse.

I found acid free, cardboard supports used by collectors for storing comic books work well. I wrap my fabric pieces that are larger than 1/4 yd. and smaller than 2+ yds. My larger pieces used for backings go into a storage tub. You can get them at comic book stores and they are very reasonably priced. Acid free will not stain your fabrics over time.

I bought what they call "chip board" at my local craft store. 95 cents a board. Check out other sites on this quilting board many give demenison for cutting the board. You can buy already made ones ,but that is expensive.I wish I could remember the lady on here that helped me with that same question . I have been indebted to her. Happy quilting

Most quilt shops are more than glad to give you the empty cardboard bolts. I learned from a friend to cut them in half and they make GREAT storage for 1/2 - 2 yard pieces. I use the whole cardboard for bigger yardage.
