I would tell them
Yep! Speak up!!
I'd definitely let the manager know (and show him/her if you can) about the cutting issue. As far as the size, there's not much they can do about that. Fabric just isn't as wide as it used to be!
won't do any good to complain to the store. THey are not made at the store but overseas in a warehouse! Take pix and send them to the company HQ!
Politely tell them that you would like a refund and an explanation as to WHy they were crooked and shorter than a standard FQ! Be sure to tell them that this explanation will then be shared online with your social network of over 10,000 other quilter's and potential Joann shoppers! |
Wash them first (even in a teacup) and see how small they get!
uh oh.... I just bought 3 of those last night to use as a door prize. ;-(
I would tell them about it.
FQs can be 21" as fabric varies in width, but they have to be 18". A half yard doesn't vary. You can return them with a sales slip. I have bought a few of the ones on the wall for the color. They are not good fabric, but they have been true to size and did not shrink. I hate shoddy cutting. My closest JA is in a college town and that's their employment base. I've had some interesting cuts that I've refused, especially with fleece.

the 22 quote depends on how wide that particular fabric was. if it was only 42, then can't cut 22 twice out of it.
were these the ones with the cardboard in them. folded.? i never buy the ones they roll up.they are horrid. |
Yes, I would certainly mention it. You are paying for something that your not receiving.
