Mine is on carpet and all over the place. I can't get it to remain where I'd like it either!

Shelf liner stuff doesn't work for me, either. But maybe it is because my sewing room is carpeted (a spare bedroom). I have been thinking about changing it to pergo (laminate flooring) but I had to tear up 7 year old carpet that is still in great shape.....

I have a very old bench (only about 6" high) that my Dad made for my littles to stand on to reach the bathroom sink. I now use it to put my foot pedal on with the spongy self lining. The bench also releaves a hip pinch I seem to aggrivate when I sew for long periods of time.

I set mine directly on a piece of non-slip shelf lining stuff, I didn't even bother with material. So the foot pedal sits directly on the rubber lining and the lining sits directly on the floor. I set a piece underneath my sewing machine too. That thing was sliding all over the place while I was sewing. I swear these things have a life of their own!
I do the same and have for years. It is cheap and stays put. I do not remember replacing it so it must be long lasting. |
I put mine on shelf lining. It seems to keep it where it belongs...

The Martelli no skid pad for the foot pedal works well. I waited for the 50% sale and took a chance. Wonderful.

You might try a mouse pad.

I used the self-stick floor care pads on the bottom of my foot pedal they work great

I have tried the shelf liner too, with no success on my Pergo floors. I have secured my pedal cord to the desk leg so it can only scoot so far, but is always within reach of my toe to drag it back.
