Love your quilt. It is so cute.

This is a fabulous non-gender quilt. It just went on my TO DO list.
Thanks for sharing.

Everytime I hear "gender neutral" I think of people who are not sure what sex they are. Hmmmm

pretty quilt..for whomever the recipient is.

I asked the mother if she knew the gender of had a color preference. She answered "green".

That's called "confusion" - not neutrality.

Kelly, nice idea to bind in satin.

I never got a response from my nephew when I asked about color preferences, so I went to the fabric store but couldn't find anything inspiring. I got one coral and two turquoise fabrics, all in small prints. In the book, "Two-Color Quilts" (2004) from Better Homes and Gardens, I found a pattern to make. It's called Sweet Inspiration (p.168) which is simply a combination of two sizes of HSTs with a triple border and nine-patch corners. I Googled "Sweet Inspiration Quilt" and was not surprised to learn that it's not a recognized pattern. (There were all kinds of results.) I'll post the finished quilt.

Update: My nephew responded by saying they had no color preference, they just want me to choose something with a little "pop" to bring some color into the room. The nursery is a converted den, painted a beautiful deep olive color. (Turquoise and olive is one of my favorite combinations, and the coral will look good with them.) I either have good instincts or dumb luck; I'm going with the "instincts" - sounds better.

Well I would stick with primary colors - red, blue, green, yellow. Here is one I did lately.

What color thread would you use to quilt coral and turquoise?

I guess a cool pale gray will work.
