I have the exact same blocks and they are put away because I don't know what to do with them either. I had an idea in mind but when I did a 'sample' sashing, it didn't look good. I bought my blocks when they had been reduced to 50% off and thought I could surely find something to finish them. Would you like me to send you my blocks and you could put them all together and have a quilt?

They blocks would look good on a baby quilt since they are made of primary colors.

Don't try to DO anything with the colors but use them!
Browns or black would really mess the happy quality of the blocks up. Find the same colors in polka dots, or stripes, or florals and go with the flow! If you really don't like it for yourself, think how happy a child would be to receive such a happy quilt! I have made baby quilts using all different brights and always binding them in black and white zebra print and the babies eyes can follow the colors. Enjoy the joy of the colors and make someone else happy with it. You have done a lovely job on the blocks!

Maybe find a floral with these colors but with a white background, which may help calm the colors some.

I agree 100%! Show us again when you have completed your top. Have fun! :-D

I'm with nancy I...please be sure and show us your completed quilt when you finish it. Lots of good ideas here and I am curious as to what you will come up with. This will be a wonderful quilt.

I wouldn't add any more pattern or prints -- it would just muddle things up I think.

What about a pale yellow?

Mumzbear 05-19-2011 06:50 AM

I think I would find a floral print that has those colors but not quite so bright. You will always treasure your first project. Good luck!

I actually like those colors LOL. I'd try to find a floural with blues and yellows and greens.
