I've probably made 15-20 stack and whacks, and over 20 Take 5s (my go to, get it done in a hurry pattern)...both are easy to make...could be because I've done so many!! LOL!!

I have made a number of Carpenter Star quilts in different sizes (our last name is Carpenter) from Debbie Maddy's book - Simple Stars - Beautiful Quilts - No Diamonds - No "Y" seams. The quilts make up very quickly. Next BIG project is to make one for each of our nine grandchildren. Wish me luck.

Plus years ago I made MANY Log Cabin Christmas wreath wall hangings. Too numerous to even count!! They made great gifts.

I don't consider using the same block in more than one quilt a repeat of the quilt pattern. Log Cabin, for example, isn't a quilt pattern, it's a block pattern. You could make nothing but log cabin blocks your entire quilting life and never put them together into the same arrangement (quilt pattern) more than once. Same for Drunkard's Path and a myriad of other blocks. That said, I've never duplicated a quilt pattern, mine or anyone else's.

I make the same pattern over and over for children's quilts for the hospital. It is usually a 4 patch with a 6" focus fabric block alternating. That gives me about a 3" grid to quilt just marking the large block. It is quick and easy and with the right fabric choices is very appealing to kids.
Once I had enough bed quilts. And had made several for my grandson, I started making donation quilts. I need a purpose for the quilt. I don't make a quilt just for the sake of making it without knowing what I'll do with it. I know, weird, right?

I'm working on that one right now. It's a wall hanging so the top finished quickly. Just need to sandwich, quilt and bind it, and I'll be done. Really fun pattern!

I find I have two favorite give away quilts. One is the tumbler that I usually make in two colors. I use fleece for the backing and I tell people that the main color tumbler, is the tumbler that catches all the good wishes, love and prayers from loved one. The background tumbler is the upside down tumbler, is the one that empties all the troubles and worries away.

The second one is the Beatitudes quilt that I purchase a panel from Block Party Studio. Also back this one with fleece. On the label for the Beatitudes quilt I always add "You are Blessed!"

They both make warm cuddle quilts and have been well received.

I've made several disappearing 9; each one is so different, don't even know it's the same pattern
