I have several small kids quilts ready to quilt, I plan on trying both ways that have been discussed in this thread. Just to see which one works best with my sewing style. Thanks for the tips.

I don't press my bindings either and I find it makes the binding go on and look fuller.

Gotta give this a try. Thank you.

That's how I do mine, too. How do I not iron it? I'm confused (not that it takes much to get me that way... LOL!).

Will have to try this. My corners never look like I think they should!

I just bound a quilt this week & my corners were the worst I've ever made! They didn't want to miter. They were all humpy-looking. I was so frustrated! I don't know what the problem was but they were awful!

Looking forward to trying this, although wish I had read this thread yesterday before putting on binding!

A Big DITTO I just used a new method using 2 fabrics to make a binding it came out nice and it also was the first time I machine sewed it to finish (stitch in the ditch, did not do it so great) I normally finish it by hand it takes hours and hours machine finishing it took me 1 hour. Prefer the hand finshing. but had to get the quilt to a group so they could price it to sell.

Love the information thank you

This is my method also, but I have always pressed it in half first. I am going to try this method on the quilt that is being quilted now. It makes sense to me that this will save some time and still leave a neat and tidy binding. Thank you for this hint. There are so many talented and helpful quilters out there.

Just how I do mine. Pressing the binding in half makes it easier to sew to the front with machine, keeps the raw edges together. I will stay with my method, it works for me. Do what works for you. No one way to do anything.
