I have the Viking Sapphire 875 and when the bobbin is getting to within the last few inches it won't sew at all. I love this feature. You sure never run out of bobbin that way.

I have been to "run out land" many times. I have been to ALMOST run out land too.

Careful what you wish for......

I am used to the low bobbin indicator being a simple flashing light - and since I am a smart girl, I can figure that in about 6 feet of sewing, the bobbin will run out.

My new machine (Pfaff 2056) has a "low bobbin" message on the display window and I think it also beeps. I only know that the sewing motion comes to a screeching halt. First I have to suffer through 3 stop/start stitches (because I am apparently NOT smart enough to figure out what "low bobbin" means). By this time, I am already frustrated and hit that gas pedal pretty hard - only to have the machine take off like a bat out of hell.....for about 6 inches, when the sewing motion comes to a screeching halt.....

I can pretty much tell by the sound when I've run out of bobbin.

I would love to have that. It would save me loads of grief.

I am always checking my bobbins as I go. In my Model 15 or 66 its not that bad, but when its my 27 its nearly impossible. The bobbin monster will get you everytime on that rascal

Oh how I hate when that happens! I'm getting better at hearing a change in the sound of my machine.. like tuning into your baby's cry.... so, lately, I've only gone a couple inches before I notice I'm out of thread. I guess I don't get out much, cuz' I didn't know machines came with an indicator... That's fantastic!

My machine has that indicator and I've turned it off. I hate it! It beeps when I'm about 1/4 from the end of the bobbin..it also beeps when it thinks there is a microscopic piece of thread..or lint...or dust mite..or some other fri^*@ thing that I can't find...so I cured it.....its turned off..
