Been there, done that. I'm a member too.
My embroidery machine has a beeper to let you know the bobbin is getting low. Bad thing is, it starts alerting you when the bobbin is maybe half full. Every time you start sewing it beeps. I hate it! It's way too early and by the time you are out of bobbin thread, you've started ignoring the beeps. |
Another member here!! I did that last night! Too funny!

Well, I used to have the same thing happen. But, about 2 years ago I bought a Babylock machine and guess what???
It does tell me when the bobbin is almost out of thread. In fact, it tells me repeatedly; if I am trying to just finish an inch, it still alerts me. I think it is great. Not everyone can afford a new machine but for those that are thinking about it, choose one that has this feature. It is well worth it. And, it does not start beeping until you are very, very close to the end. Diane |

I use cone thread & it goes forever....or so it seems.Would be great to have a bobbin that matched it !

My DH doesn't understand why someone can't invent a machine that will feed bobbin thread off a spool, so you don't have to keep winding the little things!
Maybe next year. |

Some machines have a low bobbin alert feature, but none of mine do. I can *usually* tell by the sound. I tried that bobbin on the top trick recently, works on most machines, but gave me weird tension on my kids' Brother HS 2000.

I have a machine that shows me how much bobbin thread I have but I keep sewing. I am always in the middle of a project and just hope I have enough left till I get finished.
