This sewing machine I am not really sure but I think these sewing machines are made by Singer and they were used during the war to sew clothing and uniforms for the red cross for the troops.

Google Minnesota A and compare it with your beauty. As best as I learned last year this machine was given a number of different names. Yours is beautiful! The one I picked up at the Goodwill last year for use at a Girl Scout Day Camp was in much rougher condition, but still worked wonderfully.

I've never heard of a Red Cross but it looks nice and reminds me of my mom's Singer from the 1920's. I cried when I wore out the inner workings and at that time no one was refurbishing them.
