You can use the 1.5" die from accuquilt for the GO and then cut them again after the strip.
I don't wash my fabrics but I am not allergic to the unwashed fabrics as the above quilter is. |
I agree that the only ones you need to be concerned with prewashing are the reds and the batiks. Everthing else shold be fine when washed for the first time with a couple (I use two) of color grabbers.

Some people do, some don't-- all make great quilts...the only reason to really (stress) over pre-washing is if you have a fabric that may run (bleed)...and you can test as you go along for those...checking reds (which are the bigest culprits)or handdyes/batiks;;; i would not be starting over, there is nothing wrong with the 1 1/2" squares you already have! |
I hope you didn't throw them away! Pieces that small couldn't shrink that much. I wouldn't worry about pre-washing. I think I'd pretty much stick with cotton or poly/cotton blends and not use anything too different like velvets, loosely woven fabric, silky stuff, etc.

I gave away all of my cut pieces....several boxes worth to members here on the board awhile back when I fourn out about the allergies. I have to prewash as even going into the quilt shops is a hard thing to do. I can only last about 15 minutes without having issues.

My machine is upstairs and we have varnished pine floors there. I just use a dry swiffer on them, and a couple times
a year a wet swiffer ( it doesn't stay damp very long.] My husband gave me one of those extendable things with a magnet on the end. You can pull them out and just run it around your area and it grabs up those pins. Get them at the Auto Parts stores. |
Both the Go and Studio cutters have 1.5" strip dies. You cut the 1.5" strips, turn them 90 degrees on the die, then cut again. The Go! die is on sale today (3-21-11)

Accuquilt has a 1 1/2 inch strip. cut strips, the turn 90 % cut again and you get squares. I do it all the time with 2 and 2 1/2
