The only thing I have left is little strips for stems--I have to make sure they all get cut the same length out of bias strips and I haven't done a lot of bias. Sooo this will be a learning experience for me. Everything else is ready to be stitched (by machine) so I am hoping to wrap it up this weekend. I can't stand projects hanging over my head--makes me very, very nervous--so afraid I won't get it done in time. But, the good Lord willing and te creeks don't rise, I'll get it done. My other woryy is doing a good job on evryone else's quilt. I have never done this before and hope what I do is good enough to say I did it. :!:

That's my worry too...doing a good job. Hubby and all my friends tell me that I will. I just hope so!

imaquilter 05-01-2008 04:01 AM

Everyone will do great! I personally am going to have 3 quilts floating around this group and I am confident in all of you and will love what everyone does. You are all leaving your mark on my quilt. Cool!

Great....now I'm thinking about me doing 3......I sure hope everyone likes what I do. I get to work on some of your quilts twice!!! :?

I might get stoned.......

tlrnhi 05-01-2008 04:06 AM

I'm trusting you! I love your quilts!

Did you want us to post pics of our centers?

vicki reno 05-01-2008 04:49 AM

Yes, everyone tells me the same thing, but of course, I am a worry wart and have my doubts about the quality of my work. Is it or will it be good enough for others? I am excited about doing this, but still worry. : :?

QuiltingTurtle 05-01-2008 07:15 AM

I am worried too. I am still a newbie to all this. But it sounds so fun.

imaquilter 05-01-2008 11:39 AM

Yes, please post pics of your centers. I know I would love to see them as well as others!!!

QuiltingTurtle 05-01-2008 12:30 PM

I love your center mareliba. I think I am going to keep mine the way it is. What kind of label should we have? I haven't ever done one.

mareliba 05-01-2008 12:40 PM

I am going to embroider the name of the center, the date and my name, then have space where all of you can sign the label.

Do you have a picture of this center? i just love mice!

bettlove 05-01-2008 03:11 PM

I would post a picture of my quilt center, but am having lots of trouble finding out how to do it. So much of this website doesn't work for me and there isn't an attachment button anywhere that I can find.

Mareliba's center is beautiful and I don't just say that because I am her proud mother.

My center block

Cordelia 05-01-2008 06:57 PM

Well, everybody, I jumped into the fray here. I'm going to work on my center this weekend.

I'm planning on making mine 30" x 30". Is that the size you all are making?

That will make a nice lap quilt.

bettlove 05-01-2008 06:58 PM

Really pretty. Don't think you are on my list, but I would like to have the pattern for that.

tlrnhi 05-01-2008 07:14 PM

Mine measures about 18 1/2 x 19.

It's not really a true pattern Bettlove.
I started with a pattern, but it got all screwed up, so I pretty much tore it apart and made my own.
You are welcome to copy it.
The squares are about 4" each.
It started out to be the middle of a Mystery Quilt that was finished. By the time I got to the paper piecing part of it...no paper piecing in my square....I noticed the measurements were wrong.
It gave the dimensions to cut the squares, but on the template, it said that the fabric square measurements DID NOT allow for 1/4 inch seam.
What a dumb place to put that note, huh? So, needless to say, I have a bunch of pieces I will be doing something with later on, maybe.
I had found the pattern online. Don't know where I found it, since there were so many centers I was looking at, I don't even know where to start....sorry.

MAMAKANE 05-01-2008 07:25 PM

I'm interested

tlrnhi 05-01-2008 07:28 PM

Ok, I was looking thru My Favorites and didn't find it. Evidently, I didn't save it. I looked at the paper/directions and there isn't a website printed on the bottom.

MAMAKANE 05-01-2008 07:37 PM

This sounds great. I am from western pa and have been quilting for a few years. I would like to be part of this round robin. Let me know how. Thanks!
mamakane

barbsbus 05-01-2008 08:02 PM

Looking forward to starting your first round. I got my center started and got some more material today to finish it. I will be driving up to Oregon be with my mother for 5 days and will bring it with me because I like to do hand work when I am sitting with her. She is 92 and likes to just sit and visit so I should get lots done after I get all her errands run. I hope to get it in the mail next weekend to Dawn Hendrix. I think this is going to be fun and challenging.

tlrnhi 05-01-2008 08:19 PM

I think it's a good idea to post the centers. That way, it give the people a chance to at least LOOK at fabric that could go with the centers. Know what I mean?

Izy 05-01-2008 09:26 PM

Just want to say that I think this is great!! Your centre blocks look great all of you.....can wait to see more...bring em on!!!! :D

Dawn Hendrix 05-02-2008 02:58 AM

Great Center tlrnhi ... Can't wait to get my paws on it! I have just the border in mind!!!!

vicki reno 05-02-2008 03:19 AM

Mine is a vewrsion of Rose of Sharon with stars for flowers instead of scalloped pieces. I am ready to assemble but the stems are giving me fits. They are narrow and have to be doubled (bias) and won't curve like they should. I will try again tomorrow. I was too tired last night, but will start fresh in the a.m.

mareliba 05-02-2008 05:25 AM

Bettlove - I can give you the pattern for Tlrnhi's center.

Mamakane - you need to send a personal mail to imaquilter. She is our "leader".

Imaquilter - got your message and no problem about sending my blocks to macbroo.

I love all the centers posted so far and look forward to seeing the rest. Happy Sewing!!

Cordelia 05-02-2008 06:37 AM

Does this mean I'm going to put the first border on your center piece, Mareliba?

And does that mean that I'm sending my center piece to you? I'm sorry, I've joined late and I haven't made it yet. But, I plan to do it this weekend.

mareliba 05-02-2008 08:08 AM

I am sending my center to macbroo. You are not on my list so I assume you are on the other one. Get your list from our esteemed leader - imaquilter, and it will have the order of whom you send your pieces to. Every time you add a border, you will send your finished piece to the person whose name appears after yours on the list. The person who is above yours will be sending her finished pieces to you. Each center makes the loop and each person will put a border on each persons piece so each finished quilt will have been made by 6 different people.

Let me know if this is not clear.

mareliba

Cordelia 05-02-2008 10:48 AM

Okay, I'll check for that list.

By the way, I am macbroo.

mareliba 05-02-2008 10:49 AM

OK - glad to meet you! :D I will pm you the list (if I can), that way you will have it.

Cordelia 05-02-2008 12:07 PM

I'm sorry to be a pain, but my computer wouldn't open the .wps file.

I've been looking over your block awhile now and have so many ideas, I can hardly pick one ...

Can you send me back the link for the pattern? I really like the quilt and think I MIGHT try it, but will adjust the cutting to ADD the 1/4 inch in the directions. I had tossed the directions out when I started have all the problems with it

bettlove 05-04-2008 02:43 PM

mareliba - did you say you have the pattern for Tlrnhi's center or do you know where to get it?

I still haven't been able to find the solution for the problem with this website.

MAMAKANE 05-04-2008 06:56 PM

How do i reach her?

imaquilter 05-05-2008 04:56 AM

Hello everyone! I was out of town for the weekend. I was going over all of the posts and saw some things that people had questions about.

Cordelia - make sure that you have the list that I emailed with everyone's addy, etc. You will mail your center to the person BELOW your name. You will always mail to the person below you as well, any other quilts.

MAMAKANE - unfortunately, our Round Robin is full. I am considering putting another one together later in the year. Just keep an eye out on the board for it. Anyone can put one together though so, if someone else wants to, that is fine. I am not positive that I will do another one just because of time constraints I have in the fall.

The centers look great!!! Just 10 more days and all of your centers have to be in the mail!!!

tlrnhi 05-05-2008 05:01 AM

Mine will go in the mail on Thursday. Have to return the rental car that day, so will drop that off, the run over to post office. I also have a package I need to get out to Henry before the end of school.
