What do you store your safety pins in? Do you store them open or closed? If I leave them open it is a huge tangled mess but I hate having to close each and every one (I'm lazy). I like to use both safety pins and straight pins when basting a quilt.

I store mine in the small jelly canning jars. Works for me.

I store mine in jars according to sizes. I use jars about baby food size.

I store mine open in a mason jar. When I am ready to pin, I toss them onto a dinner plate. By the time I get to the end of the pile, tangling is not an issue as I pull them from the edges and shake the plate every now and then to spread them out. It works for me.

Open in a plastic box with a hinged, snap lid.
