I like both!

luvstitches 04-08-2011 03:22 AM

yellow or no sashing

KR 04-08-2011 03:33 AM

Your piecing is sooo perfect....great job!

I like the idea of no sashing. But if you decide you want sashing, I'd go with the yellow....looks cheerier to me and your scrappy blocks are bright and cheery.

Thanks for sharing!! Be sure to post the finished project!

Definitely sashing! I love sashing on quilts with lots of colors. The blue is very nice but I am partial to black and dark brown. It is going to be very pretty no matter how you do it.

mjsylvstr 04-08-2011 03:40 AM

yellow sashing

Tinker Tots 04-08-2011 03:42 AM

I like the yellow sashing. It really pops,

your blocks have very bright colors I would like to see a more nutural color sashing.
I prefer the the yellow.

I agree. Or no sashing at all.

bigsister63 04-08-2011 03:57 AM

What color is the room that you are going to use the quilt in? That is the color I would go with or (actually) I would try white sashing and see what it looks like.

redmadder 04-08-2011 03:59 AM

No sashing. It takes away the visual impact of those great fabrics.

Suzi 04-08-2011 03:59 AM

OK - when I looked at the 3 pictures the first one jumped out at me - meaning (if this quilt were mine) I would sash with something the approximate color of the background in the picture (grey, cream, white) and I would make the sashing narrow so as not to detract from those gorgeous blocks at all. The other option would be a thin black or charcoal grey. IMHO

mimiof3 04-08-2011 04:20 AM

I like the yellow - but i think that it would look great w/o any sashing. Love that fabric.

ditto--lovely quilt

I love the yellow sashing, it makes the blocks stand out.

I agree with merrylouw. I think sashing would really make the blocks pop, especially if you used black ! You have enough black fabric in the blocks to balance out with a black sashing.

eaglebeak1960 04-08-2011 04:27 AM

I would find a sashing that does not clash so much with the block (you need a more neutral sashing) the ones you have are too bright and will take away from all the hard work you have put into this quilt

roadrunr 04-08-2011 04:30 AM

If you use the yellow sashing, it looks like the blocks are floating, I like that effect. The blue sashing makes each block stand out and no sashing also looks nice.

teddysmom 04-08-2011 04:33 AM

I vote for the yellow sashing. It really makes the blocks stand out.

Homespun 04-08-2011 04:38 AM

I prefer no sashing or the yellow.

19angel52 04-08-2011 04:47 AM

I like the blue .... frames the blocks better IMHO.....

Good job!

Zebracar 04-08-2011 04:56 AM

I would go with black or white Sashing. It would help your blocks pop. The blocks tend to blend in with the blue and yellow Sashing strips. Good luck! Beautiful blocks!

Tweety2911 04-08-2011 05:02 AM

I like it without the sashing. I agree it would make a great scrappy quilt :-)

Yes! Black! And not very wide! Awesome quilt

scrapykate 04-08-2011 05:09 AM

Blue, but that's my favorite color....

okiepastor 04-08-2011 05:10 AM

I vote for none, or black!

sewnsewer2 04-08-2011 05:10 AM

The yellow sashing makes the blocks pop better, but either way it will be pretty!

steelecg 04-08-2011 05:23 AM

I like the yellow best

pjnesler 04-08-2011 05:30 AM

Both options are lovely, but I think black would frame out each block very nicely - make each stand out and give more of a high end look. Hope you show us the final results! Thanks

sandpat 04-08-2011 05:35 AM

I like this one any way you do it! Funny how it looks so different each way. You just can't go wrong! So depending on the size you need to end up with would be a driving force to me for how you finish it. Blue or yellow would depend on where the quilt will be used when finished. I like them all!

Not much help am I?? LOl!

quiltingb1 04-08-2011 05:37 AM

No sashing makes it look scrappier. I really like the cheerful look with the yellow but that's just my opinion. I think it all comes down to what look you are going for. It will be quite lovely no matter which of the 3 you choose.

Oooh, I love this idea! And you could use a third color for the sashing intersections.

MamaYitu 04-08-2011 05:41 AM

I vote for the blue sashing to go with the pretty, colorful blocks.

pkelly1947 04-08-2011 05:48 AM

Definitely sash

alageeps 04-08-2011 05:50 AM

I like no sashing or the white for sashing and the blue for the border and yellow for the border blue being on the inside. I think the blue makes it pop....What ever you choose will be right!

janiesews 04-08-2011 05:52 AM

I vote without sashing.

I agree; like the yellow- and your fabrics are great!

quilter2theend 04-08-2011 06:00 AM

I vote yellow, makes the blocks and quilt come together.

Can I vote for black sashing?
