Side by side comparison

Alright, I took the advise and am trying other fabric. Here is the other option of fabric with the original option as well. The light colored fabric on Option B is going to go into the broken star motif for the next round of diamonds.
Your opinions are appreciated. Also which one can I do more fancy quilting on? I'm assuming option b. Thanks for taking the time to help. Yael Option B option A |
I like the first one....the beige color picks up the beige in the blocks and really makes the stars pop. IMHO the other one is too busy and takes away from your stars.
Yep, the first one for sure.
I liked the first one until I saw the second. That looks like lots of fun soap bubbles floating around your star and just made me grin to see it!. But since I can't be too sure, just send the completed quilt to my house for a closer inspection. Of course, I really do promise to send it back when I am done with it, heh heh heh. This pattern HAS to go on my bucket list now.

I like number2
I like the first one.
option A I will go with
I agree with what quiltin-nannie said. The first one.
I prefer A but I'm a traditionalist. I do see fun potential with B
i vote for option a
I like the first one.
I used the second example; with the circles on it, several years ago and title the quilt 'Old Mans pajamas'. I am very glad you found that great beige to add at the outer edge rather than the 'OMP'.:D
This quilt is stunning! peace |
Beautiful quill. I like A. The other is too busy for me.

I like the beige much better.
I like the first one better, but it is your quilt use the one you want.
I really live the first one.
I like the first one.
Prefer the first but adore the fabric in the second one and think it would look great somewhere.
Wellll, I kinda of like them both.
I really like 2, it "pops" nicely.
I like the first one because it is traditional looking and safe. I like the second one because it made me happy when I saw it. Safe or happy, happy or safe - I can't help. Sorry.
I like the original one (circles). It add an unexpected element to the quilt.
The first one get my vote!
I like the first one. Could you use the other for the backing? The colors are so pretty!
We are not going to make this any easier - I like B, but personally tend to veer away from traditional
1 is gorgeous and like every one else has said very traditional. 2 is more fun. Depends on what you want. I love 2's fabric. Not much help, huh?
You quilt is a knock-out. |
The reason I prefer the first one, A, is because the piecing in the star is intricate and really wonderful; I feel the "bubble" background takes attention away from this. That bubble fabric is adorable for another context, maybe even on the back of your quilt where it won't compete so much with that star design.
Can't wait to see what your finished project! Jan in VA |
I like the 2nd one
I like B. I think the tan frames the star and would show off the quilting. I think the circles would make a great back.
Think A is the best.
I LOVE the second choice! :-) It makes me think the star is floating in the universe.... :-)
Option b for me
I like both. But maybe option A a little bit more.
I prefer 2 . But what comes next as that also needs to be taken into consideration.
I like the bubbles fabric best. Didn't even notice the beige at first, and had to go back to see what it was after I saw the bubbles fabric. If it's an area for fancy quilting you're looking for, though, the beige is the one you want. What a stunning quilt you are making! And you piecing is perfect!
I would go with #2. It POPS.

This quilt is stunning! peace Option 1- the beige - is my favorite too and I love your color and fabric choices Yael! I'm so impressed with your skill in creating this! |
That is really stunning. Hard to choose.
If the material in #2 is going to be used in the next round, I would go with the beige. Going with #2 would blend too much into that next round.
