I have used Connecting Threads 50wt cotton for several years and it is very good thread and I will continue to use it, I was using it for piecing and quilting, then.....I read about poly thread on here and had some and tried it, what a difference in lint. Poly is much cleaner to sew with when piecing. I do still prefer the Connecting Threads for top stitching though, and I do have to add that their prices are really good, especially with their sales. They don't carry aurifil, but they do have both cotton and poly thread and a large selection of colors.

I mainly use coats & clarks in a cream, natural. I have used a lot of my connecting threads light colors. I need to start using up some of my darker colors. I quilt mostly with C&C quilting thread using a size 16 needle to go over seam allowances.

I sew with a lot of thread - no C & C unless it's the old stuff. I dislike the stiffness of the new. I do like Superior Masterpiece, but I buy a poly thread that works well for 99 cents a spool from ThreadArt.com. I've purchased their poly varigated embroidery thread for FMQ and thread painting. No problems, and again at a great price.

Got an email yesterday from Quilt in a Day and they have the Aurifil neutrals on sale for 25% off and free shipping. If you are in need of Aurifil thread.

Being a Craftsy/Bluprint member, I usually buy Aurifil or the new Craftsy Pima thread when it’s on sale. I just picked up 12 spools of Aurifil plus a free storage case at QuiltCon for $99 so I added a few fun colors. It worked out to be about $8.25/spool.

I usually use a neutral for piecing. I prefer Aurifil and have quite a stock - bought on sale from Craftsy. Have not bought thread since Craftsy has become Bluprint.

You don't buy from Bluprint, the Craftsy site has the shopping. Still the same.

I only use Aurifil, and usually a taupe or grey, although I have used a peach color I got on a great sale. It was fine, no showing. Amazon has a 12 pack w. storage box of neutrals for $97.49. A big investment, but works out to $8.12 per spool.

quiltshops.com - entered aurifil sale http://search.myquiltshops.com/cgi-s...myqssearch.cgi

Also - Walmart.com it's $9/spool.

If you would use a cone: Pumpkinvinecorner.com has cones on sale for $37.99, with large color selection.

Thank you so much for the Pumkinvinecorner link!! I love that cone thread!

I bought several spools from Missouri Star and really like the quality and price. They are my go to place for threads now.
