That is a cool thing. I hadnt a clue...now that they "got" smart and invented that...when are they going to "invent" the never ending bobbin? They can put man on the moon, invent these huge machines that make stuff in factories, but yet they can't make a bobbin that never runs out of thread!!!

They do. My old Viking 1+ makes a beep sound. Very helpful.

Barbara,
My "Ella Ellageo" has a "frowny face" on the screen and lets me know, on no uncertain terms, that the bobbin is low. If I try and close that screen, it keeps prompting me until I take care of the bobbin. Gets rather annoying at times, but better than running out of bobbin in the middle of something. |
My sewing machine flashes a red light when it is down to about 2 metres of thread - depending on the thickness of the thread that I am using. It then stops automatically and tells me I a,m low on bobbin thread. If I want to override the command and keep on sewing, I just leave the door to the bobbin case open.
