I would prefer the blinking light to the ding/bing/beep/ding-dong or whatever other sounds it would make!!

I can shut the noise off of the Viking if I prefer.

I have a Babylock and it beeps and won't let me continue to sew unless I hit the "close" tab on the screen...usually has about a foot of thread left. Sometimes I can end, sometimes I can't! Love it when I can tho!

I have 5 machines and non of them ding. Must have to have more expensive machines.

Mine is an inexpensive Brother SE 350 sewing and embroidery machine about $400.00 all kinds of beeps and bleeps!!

My Babylock dings when the bobbin reaches the half-empty mark and it keeps dinging much to the frustration of my friends who get tired of hearing it. So I purchased a smaller machine to take to class or friends that doesn't ding and I keep my Babylock with the dining in my sewing room.

Mine only makes a funny noise about 20" AFTER the bobbin thread is gone. lol. But that's OK with me because I must believe that to waste bobbin thread is a sin. I use it until it's completely gone, on purpose and everytime. I would hate the beep.

Mine does and it is really annoying. I t does that and I still have plenty of thread left in the bobbin. When the top thread breaks, it stops sewing!

my viking has a sensor that does beep when you get low on bobbin thread, it would be nice if all machines had that

I bought a Singer 9323 back in the early 90's (bell-less and whistle-less), and have sewn on it so much that I can tell by the sound and feel when the bobbin is running low. Weird, huh?

A dinger would probably drive me crazy. I hate being "told" to do something!
