Default project runway embroidery machine options

I am finally getting a embroidery machine. At my husband's job they offer points each month for safety that you can redeem for items. I check out any sewing items. I saw they had the project runway brother embroidery machine. I was able to get enough points to order it from my husband and my father. It should show up in a few days. I was wondering if any one has used the machine and if its a good machine. I can't complain since its free and I can't beat that. I am super excited to receive it.

If anyone can give me tips for using it.

Gosh! How lucky! When my Hubby was working(retired now), I got a sterling and gold necklace and bracelet, a leather jacket, a clock.......Never got sewing offers! LOL

If its the LB6800PRW, then yes I have used it. My DH was offered a gift for 30 years at his job. Nothing in the catalog was of much interest to him, but he did point out this Brother Project Runway machine and said I should have it. Of course I went for it and had him place the order! Embroiders very nicely, easy to sew on. You will love it. Lightweight, mine came with the Project Runway bag which was a huge bonus. The con to the machine, other than the small sewing area, the lack of space to hold all the feet and accessories in the storage area, and minimal lighting (I need tons of bright light on the sewing area), is the small 4x4 embroidery area/ hoop. Although, you could purchase larger hoops and move it up and down on the snap on embroidery unit, but still only embroiders a 4x4 design at a time. The Brother site and Amazon both have great descriptions of this very nice machine. Perfect for beginner or advanced embroiderer. It is very easy to learn on this machine. Follow the book-very thorough. Enjoy!

I have the project runway PE 500 model, an entry level machine. It is a great machine with a good Manuel and onscreen help. Their telephone support is wonderful, with only downside they are closed on weekends. When I first got mine, I was calling them several times a day and they were very supportive each time I called. My only regret is I wish I had a bigger design area instead of the 4 x 4.

I wish I new what model I was getting. But it does come with the carrying case also. I am looking forward to using it and I think it will be a great addition to my quilting. So can wait to make labels.

From what I heard, they DO have Disney embroidery programs but be ready for the hoop to be small but the right size for quilt labels.
