I have this model too and love it. I tend to sew a lot without stopping to clean out the bobbin area as often as it needs it, and if it gets too linty I sometimes have tension problems. But under normal conditions (clean) it can't be beat. I bought mine from Ed Reichert in Phoenix and he gave me a great price and free shipping!

By the way, it is not "an industrial machine". Commercial machines are mounted in special tables, have large oil reservoirs and a large, noisy, seperate motor mounted on the table. A lot of people selling machines like to make the claim that it is an industrial machine when it isn't. The Juki is a portable... not industrial... but yes, a very, very strong machine that will sew through anything without wavering.

LOVE! my Juki. It certainly is a workhorse, and such consistently beautiful stitches! It will run for years without fail. The only maintenance I've done on it is cleaning, oiling and new needles.

I had a 98Q but had to reduce the herd! I wish I had kept it. Workhorse, YES! Virtually trouble free. I'd say Juki is a great choice.

I have one too and love it would recommend it highly I use mine to quilt or regular sewing it is a great machine you cannt go wrong with it have never had any problems with it. Ordered mine on line.

I just love mine so much I got two of them. One for piecing and one on my gracie frame used to quilt . You can't go wrong owning one.

Not all industrial or commercial machines are like this. Machines that were built to cater to tailors shops and small garment factories were sometimes considered commercial, but definitely weren't industrial. Think of Singers 201-2, or or a 31-15. Not all industrials are big hulks either. My Consew CP206R is an industrial machine, yet it's a portable machine in a case and weighs about the same as my vintage home sewing machines.

Thinking about getting this machine.???s How is it of FMQ? Easy to maintain? Do you use it for piecing too or use your other DSM for piecing?
