I would either remove them or add more for an odd number, maybe 7. But do what you think your sister would like best. My preference aesthetically would be to make it only blues and greens, though.

try adding at least one more piece of orange. I know in designing flower beds it's important to always have at least 3 of any plant--always an odd color, not even. If you don't like the look then, take it out and use to surround the label.

Yeah, here is another vote to take the orange out, I can see both sides, the orange is the pop.

Most of you are not understanding that the orange is important. It has meaning for the quilter and will have meaning for the recipient. These are grandmother's hankies. So taking it out is not an option. Making it more "classy" is what we need to do.

So, I decided to take the orange pieces out of the stacks. Since I don't have any more of that color, I think I am going to look for a border fabric with the blues and greens and a bit of orange. Then, I am going to use the orange pieces that I have from the hankie, as corner medallions for the border. And maybe do a scrappy binding with bits of orange. Thank you everyone!!!

Oh, please keep the orange. It adds a needed spark. But I agree that I'd like to see at least 3, preferably 5 scattered instances of orange or another warm color.
