I give most of mine away. I display my keepers on a quilt rack and folded in a cabinet in my quilting room.

If you have room, get carpet or upholstery rolls, cover with cotton fabric, roll the quilts on the carpet roll and stand them in a closet. They won't have fold lines in them. You can also store them horizontally.

We have a shop nearby that sells 'Amish furniture.' Various times over the years we have purchased from them and our next purchase will be a custom made display cabinet for our bedroom. Something that will hold a tv on top with 2 glass doors on the bottom. One with shelves that will hold tv equipment stuff, and one that displays shelves of quilts. Haven't worked out the details yet, and they very well could change.
I did a Google image search for "quilt display cabinet Amish"and oodles of photos show up

You are not supposed to store quilts in plastic. I have found pillowcase to work just great!

I saw those several yrs ago ion arcola Illinois...an Amish community....very reasonable..stupid mr did not buy one....road trip this summer me thinks!

I make drawstring fabric bags from fat quarters or fabric I don't think I will ever use. Store my Unfinished projects or my fabric for future quilts

I use a pool noodle for most of them- see blogspot address from sparkys mom on pg 3.....I buy old white sheets to make the sleeves, stored in the closet

This make sense to me. It beats having to take the quilts out and refold a couple times year. I won't use plastic to store anything I've made. Although The zip lock with the breathable holes might work.
