I used this one from our board. My Jane Stickle quilt is done this way and I loved it. Yes I did reverse it so that I was doing the hand sewing on the back, but it was very peaceful.

I've got that Marti Mitchell book, and I still don't understand what on earth she is talking about. I bought a Craftsy class on something similar that made more sense.
As for quilt as you go, I prefer the "Queen of Stitching"

There are 4 videos.
The last quilt I finished was supposed to be a raggie, but I didn't feel like snipping all those edges. I joined with sashing back and front. Far easier on the hands to cut strips.
I still have to finish the other half of the "Night Sky" quilt. Get that done and try her book again. I HATE hand stitching.

I did a Cotton Theory quilt by Betty Cotton. It was of many different scraps, so was mind boggling to keep the pieces straight on each section, front and back. Using yardage would have been easier. It was much easier to get the quilting done. No hand sewing here. Everything is done with decorative stitches on the machine, including the binding. I liked it, but it did seem to take a long time.
Quilt as you go is the method to use for people who don't like to (or can't) crawl around on the floor or handle a very large quilt for very long.

This is a QAYG with no hand stitching, sounds like it would work well. It is by Rose Smith.
