I wish I had someone to quilt with. I use to quilt with my mom via phone before passed away in 2004. We would talk about what we were working on, colors, borders and at times she would send me a snip of fabric to see her colors. I really miss My quilting friend, my mom.

Sometimes a quilting family can be different than a regular family. A quilting family can also be friends who enjoy quilting together and being together while they do it. The enjoyment of making quilts together can bond people together just as much.

While I was visiting my daughter and her family in Texas last summer, my 12 year-old grandaughter decided she wanted to make a quilt, so we quilted together in my travel trailer. Lots of fun and she was so proud of her lap quilt!

I started my own quilt family. Friends of my son come over on Wednesday and we quilt from 5:30 to midnight. It is alot of fun! I am thinking of redoing the basement to make it more comfortable for all 4 of us to work.

Have a few but so hard to get everybody together. I usually try to go to them for some quilting one on one. My sister calls me every so often so I will go over and make her quilt. :)

You are so fortunate to have all of them. I have my mother in when it is time for one of the grandchildren to graduate from school. they each get a new quilt to begin, their next stage of life. I too WISH I had a quild to work with. Being handicapped and unable to drive. can be sooo frustrating. I read an earlier post abt some jumping fabric.. I remember those day, when fabric would just appear in my cart. You are very blessed. :-P
