Quilting ideas for Churn Dash

Very pretty churn dash blocks. Most traditional hand quilting of old blocks I've seen is usually 1/4inch inside the seam lines or cross hatching. Are you planning to hand quilt it? If you are going to machine quilt it, I think I might try a traditional pattern like Baptist Fans or Orange Peel? I love Baptist Fans on a quilt but there is no way I would ever have the patience to hand quilt them. I have seen both a machine pattern for them and someone doing them freehand on the net.

As a handquilter, I'd echo quilt most of the pieces. I'd do a cross-hatch or maybe a rope pattern in the sashes between the blocks - and I'd look for a design to put in the center block - maybe a simple flower. In the corner blocks of the sashing, I'd just do an X. I like to take my quilt tops to a stencil place to see what fits in the blocks...

I ended up SID the Churndash Blocks, doing the crosshatch in the center, then in between the blocks where there is the 1 1/2" block of fabric I did a daisy type feathered wreath using that small block as the flower center. It is turning out really pretty and I will post pics when finished with it.
The customer wanted more than an all over design and I'm better at custom than I am at pantos.

Does anyone know if you can quilt a baptism fan design on a domestic machine? Will it turn out or look right? I have a small wall hanging churn dash and think that maybe a good fit, but don't want to do it by hand. Although I'm reserving the right to change my mind on the hand quilting. Lately I feel like I'm production piecing, I've got so many projects going.
