Default Quilting machine reviews

Hi, everybody/anybody... I'm seriously thinking about buying a Tin Lizzie 18 for my own personal use, but I'm having a tough time getting any honest, up-front reviews about this product crom the dealers. of course, they all rave about it because a sale is the prime directive. Anybody out there have an opinion? I would appreciate any and all points of view. Thanks in advance.

I've had mine for about 5 years, bought it second hand, it's the older heavy one. My Lizzie is a workhorse and I love it.
I quilt for myself and friends, not business. There is a yahoo group that has lots of info, help and comments from users.

I've been looking at the Pfaff P3, which is made by Tin Lizzie. I seem to remember a few threads from several months ago in which one person was very displeased with TL, although I believe others disagreed with her. That thread may have been removed or locked. I wasn't a member then, just a lurker, so I didn't comment at the time.

Maybe you can do a search for Tin Lizzie and see what comes up. I'm sorry I can't be more help. As for my opinion of the Pfaff/TL, I have a wonderful local dealer whom I know would back up their product and I really like the machine. I'm just having a hard time choosing to spend so much money on something just for me.

Tin Lizzie makes a ton of machines with different name badges, as the Pfaff, Viking, etc. I have the Viking 18.8 and love it, no problems at all.

I also have the Viking 18X8, which is the same unit as the TL 18 LS. Love it. It will sew with any thread, and tension is very easy to set.
