    If I get cold, I just add another quilt on top of the bed. Last night was a 3 quilt night. So she could just put the quilt on to of what her normal bedding is instead of adding extra batting.

    I agree... Micky tends to feel a bit warmer and softer. I'd try combining the wool batting and Minky back rather than two layers of batting.
