You would really laugh at me, I got a $7.00 iron at Walmart
and love it. It is light, has steam, I use it to travel with.
It's just a cheap iron...it isn't necessary to get an expensive
iron!

I have always had good luck with Black and Decker. Nothing fancy, just a hot steam or dry iron....

I too have had two Rowenta's, and would not buy another one. I know have a $30.00 Sunbeam which I love.

My old Black and Decker does a great job - if you are not using steam, Carol Doak recommends an iron from Vermont Country Store that is cheap -

This is the one I have. I dropped the last one I bought on the tip so left that one with my DD when I moved and bought a new one for me. The old one still doesn't leak. I love this iron and obviously would buy it again.
I am tempted to buy another and put it in a closet in case they stop making them or change them.
I bought the blue which was a little cheaper ??? who knows. I did that because one of the reviews said the red was hard to see water level. Yes it turns itself off, which I need, but it turns back on with just a tip and gets hot pretty fast.

I love my Rowenta and have had it for about 15 years. I use only distilled water in it. Distilled is cheap like about 69 cents a gallon. a gallon lasts me several months. If I had to get another iron it certainly would be a Rowenta.

I like cordless irons. I've had the Oreck (only got rid of it cuz' the heating element rusted out after several years) and a panasonic. I really like them both. Will never go back to a corded iron!

I have had 2 Rowenta and will not buy another. It drips and doesn't wear as well as less expensive ones. I bought a black and decker and just love it. No more high priced irons for me.
