Have fun with your ruler work. There are tons of threads on the QB with tips. Don't be shy to ask any questions.

Supreme Slider is really important, as quiltingshorttimer said. Quilting gloves and setting your machine speed to whatever you find comfortable, if you have that option on your machine, is another "must" for me when I use rulers.

Thx for all the info. I need that Supreme Slider!! Someone told me that I can forgo the cost of the SS and buy one of those smooth snow slides. I know what she means but don't know the name. Seems an unusual tool to use.Has anyone heard of/tried this?

Yes, I got the smooth snow slides. They came in a pack of 2 from Amazon. Very reasonable!!!!! Easy to use. I do tape mine down on the ends.

Someone also suggested using the Teflon oven mats instead of the supreme slider. Evidently, Walmart carries them. I'm going to look for them today.

I think I'd try the parchment psper before teflon oven matts, if those are the same as Silpat sheets. They are nonstick, but not slippery. They are fsntastic for baking cookies, though!!
