[quote=Old hen]I'm one of those people who doesn't feel obligated to buy only at my LQS. I've made many quilts from fabrics purchased at JoAnn's, Connecting Threads, Walmart, etc., and as long as you're careful about selection and quality, to me, fabric is fabric. Just because it comes from an expensive shop (fabric around my area in LQS is anywhere from $11-$13/ yard) doesn't guarantee you fabulous quality fabrics. I would not be able to make very many purchases if I didn't take advantage of the retail stores.[/quotHaving visited my LQS recently, I am glad I did not buy my usual "truck load"! The fabric in the FQ's I did get was $3 each and no finer weave or thread count than JoAn's. I WAS NOT HAPPY. Will stay with CT.

i thought the batiks i bought from CT were on the thin side. i recently purchased some batik from Hancock's of Paducah and it is the same weight/feel as that from CT. not sure if this is an industry trend due to cotton prices or just me thinking batiks should feel thicker. doesn't matter, the fabric was very nice to work with and i am a repeat customer of CT.

Connecting Threads and Fons/Porter have a deal thru June 28 for 20%off yardage at Connecting Threads. You need to use the code TRYITFP for the discount. I have used the fabric for several years, agree with others that it is better than JoAnn, not quite as good as LQS. No problems with shrinking or running, I don't prewash.

I've ordered many times from Connecting Threads. They have great prices and everything has been good quality.

I received a box of their Mirage fabric yesterday. I am very pleased with the colors and quality. I have never been disappointed with their merchandise.
