She will be getting an heirloom from you. I think $300 is very fair for each.

Good advice from all here.
Pardon my ignorance in the are of feed sacks, but what sort of pattern (blocks) would you be using. In my mind, the more complex the more expensive...complex = time, at least to me.

the 3 quilts are from the top to quilting them so i will charge 15.00 for the batting and the backing im not sure what she wants i may have her buy that herself
OK i get it now i will stand fast if she wants them ok if she doesn't thats OK too!!
You've got to be kidding. My daughter does my longarm work and I pay her for the batting, supply the backing, and the cost for her work averages from $200 up to $500 for quilting a queensize (100 x 100) quilt. The quilting alone should be a minimum of 1 or 2 cents a square inch for a generic meander pattern up to 5 cents an inch for intricate work (feathers, etc.). Pricing for piecing the top would depend on the complexity of the pattern.

I would encourage you to keep a log. It might be good information for you later. The time and supplies add up faster than we realize. It cost you to quilt, even if you do not pass those cost on to your customer. You might do a logsheet template before you start so you can just jot on it as you go.

Because we have toys to pull from we forget we paid/have to pay for these things and cut ourselves short. Those who do not quilt do not realize the cost involved. I really surprised myself when I started logging. I must have more money than I realize because I put some $$$$'s into a quilt.
You do too. Keeping a log will tell you if you were fair to yourself.
You will find a Quilt Sheet at [email protected]. They really are great for keeping track of all your quilt projects.
I was not able to find the site you suggested.

I agree! I think people who do not quilt or sew think we sit dpwn and whip up a quilt in a day!

Where do you buy your flour in feed sacks? I haven't seen that in NW Oregon since back in the 50's.
