I learned some important lessons from a well loved quilt. My quilter friend and I made a quilt for a charity auction. This was early on in our quilting days. Well, my brother was the highest bidder. I had no idea how well it would be used and, washed once a week. My DSL asked us to repair it. We practically remade the quilt. We learned that accurate sized seam allowances are important. Use better quailty fabric. Don't tie a quilt you think will be used a lot. And, include care instructions.

Can't wait to quilt all the tops I have so I can have a quilt on every chair and every sofa and every bed and on the walls, and cars, and the RV... UHH get my drift ?? I made one for my bed that I am taking apart at the moment and am going to remake it a different way. Why ?? I don't know got tired of how it looked but did not want to wast the fabric.

My quilts are made to be used. I always wash and dry them before giving them to someone and emphasize to them that they have already been washed and dried so I expect them be used and washed and dried as needed.

My mom has had a quilt in the closet that my dad bought her for 30 years. I told her that if she wanted one from me she had to take it out and use it- her response was when she gets old enough----she is closing in one 80.
Quilts are made to be used--- in my opionion.

Haha, this reminds me of a conversation I had with my husband recently. I just turned 30 years old and some of the ladies at church were encouraging me to attend the Ladies Day Seminar and I told him I didn't feel old enough to attend!
