If the deer population is not thinned out they get diseased and die a long horrible death, even the cute baby deers. Hunters keep the deer healthy. The only other option is mass killing by the Game and Fish or poison. Not a good idea.

In my house, I have certain things that belong to me only and that means hands off. If they need to use something of mine they need to ask and I don't mind sharing. However, in this case not to be mean but im sure there are other ways to butcher a deer such as using a piece of ply wood or boards set up for that purpose. Yes the story was humorus in one way. I know what it takes to butcher a deer as I have hunters here but in no way would they get a table of mine that I use for sewing etc. No matter how good they clean it. I don't mean to sound selfish but some things just will not do here. Im glad they were blessed with natures bounty.

That is so funny, they do the craziest stuff dont they?

So, when you cut up meat on a cutting board...is it not clean after it is washed? I mean I understand butchering is not exactly the same as slicing a tenderloin. But, really, isn't that what soap (bleach) and water is for? I hope I would have had the presence of mind to respond as you did, allowing the rolling of the eyes to do the talking, and not jump off the deep end. Family is more important than a piece of plastic.

Many years of laughter coming...and the opportunity to roll your eyes again when he complains about his own offspring borrowing his screwdrivers and hammers to dig Barbies new swimming pool and then leaving them in the dirt.

Still chuckling. Very creative on his part. After all "Necessity is the Mother of invention".He did clean it. And I would rather them cut it up outside than inside. Do make sure that table was disinfected. My husband got a terrible , terrible rash from a parasite than was on a dear carcass one year. But that another story. Better safe than sorry.
