I want to try to make a block to send out with my swaps instead of a card, I have found all the designs I need for it so I could make up 10 or 12 at a time and just put one in each swap. My question is on the State portion of it, I was only going to do an outline of the state, but I can't decide on an applique (if I do applique I was going to use white fabric so the embroidery will show up) or drawn on with fabric paint. it would have my home state, our flag, flower, tree, bird & motto. And my board name of course. Any opinions welcome, would this be overkill? the block would probably be 6.5 inches
