i did a lap quilt for my mom.. the pattern was called "afternoon delight" and it was delightfully pieced in an afternoon...

of course it still had to be sandwiched & it is now about 1/2 quilted.. i got the sid done, but need to free motion around the outer border.

then the binding... .. someday... i would piece another one though.. it was nice & easy...

Perhaps if you have everything prepared before - hand and you don't have to cook or clean for any reason, the actual sitting down time might be six hours? I'll have to tackle one.

Yeah, well that's just like the myth of the ten minute table runner... Puhleeeaaasseeee! It takes me that long just to get the fabric pressed before I cut it!

Very cute quilts, Debbie! Thanks for the trouble of posting your pics.

Is that the "6 Hour Quilt", or are there several designs that are 6 hour?

I have made LOADS of these quilts for charity. The kids love them and so do the older ones. They are nice because you can just adding stripps and make them as big as you whant to. I still have not made one in just six hours. I have done them in 7 hours. If you cut out all of your strips ahead of time you can get in the speed mode. Once you are done you just have to bind them. I also make them for the fire department and the guys carry them on their trucks. Very simple and very rewarding. Lor6209 Muskegon MI.

I imagine there could be others, but this is the one I learned and I did more. I know it can be bigger but continueing to add sides. I wish I had one that wasn't "kiddie". They turn out really nice with Batiks, 30's, etc. Really cute. If anyone does come up with more than this style, feel free to post. I may now have to go look at Kaye's site to see. I can't stand not having an answer. LOL
