Both. Depends on what I am working on.

I definitely take my time unless the birthday is getting too close for comfort. I just like to relax and enjoy each step of the quilt I'm working on.

I am definitely "slower" than "faster". Do not do marathon speed sewing.

This is my therapy time. I definitely take it slow. Life speeds along so quickly, it's almost like stopping time. Reminds me of that old saying "Stop and smell the roses". Enjoy what you do no matter what speed.

Since I have so little time to actually sew, I go as fast as I can. But since I'm new to sewing, "as fast as I can" is actually pretty slow. (I feel like a politician with that answer.) I really try to get as much done as I can in whatever block of time I have. I love the process, but I love the feeling of being finished even more.

FAST...I am always in a hurry to get something done, deadline or not. Not because I don't enjoy what I'm currently working on, but, because my mnid is in super go-mode and I want to create my next project. My DH says "slow down, you'll enjoy it more". My comment to this is... I am enjoying it, but, I have a new idea brewing. I will never be bored quilting...too many ideas, so much fabric and too little time.

I want to finish, but then I'm almost sad at the end because it is almost over.

I do both. Yesterday, I noticed I was going slower. That is a good thing when trying to get that perfect 1/4 inch.
