I find that I have to change doing things to some thing else so I do not feel overwhelmed. Eg. From-quilting -to-crochet--cross stitch--just reading--knitting--back to quilting again. Give that a go and see if that will help.

I go through book, magazines, tutorials here...and pictures of what others have made. then pick a simple project to get me moving...I want to try those wine coasters that slip into the base of the glass. that may be a fun project for you and it makes a few nice Christmas gifts.

I had this same problem over a year ago after having had a quadruple bypass. It took me about five months to finally get back into my quilting. I would go back to my sewing room and sit there and just look at my UFO. I would start to try and d something but just could not get into it. Finally decided that it would come back in time and sure enough it finally did. Just have patience and enjoy when it finally does.

Yes, I went through a period of not wanting to work on any of my quilting projects. I did other things. Went to the library and found good books to read, looked at some of my old quilting magazines. Don't be anxious over it, the desire will come back, just give it time. :lol:

I don't guess I've seen those. Christmas??? Oh my! Somebody better send me some jet fuel! I haven't even gotten started. What a time to go into a slump!!! Usually going through books and this board helps me get going but for some odd reason it's not working. I'm so restless!!

link to the coasters...some make them square. Which is what I think I will do. It will be quicker to cut them.

Yep mine has lasted 6 months, sorry I know BIG bummer. So I go to my regular quilt shop and look at things I have been doing this the last 4 months and now I'm getting my groove back on and things are looking up. Just started finishing up a quilt that has been on the back burner. Picked up and finished a wall hanging and now Christmas stuff is in the making. Hang in there, it does return and with a vengeance. Now to figure out exactly what all my new machine can do.

Happens to me also and it is okay. Take care of what needs to be and eventually you will get the itch to return to your quilting. It is okay to "not feel like it", read a book or find another outlet to relax until the quilting bug strikes again :D
