I learned from Cindy Blackburn and once you get it, it goes pretty fast.

Are you talking about the Aunt Becky?

Why does the spoon/Aunt Becky make the quilting go faster? I don't use anything on my under finger(s) - just live with the pin-pricks/callous. I do use an open-ended thimble (thimblelady thimble) which I find far more comfortable than pushing with the tip of my finger. But still not sure why a piece of metal on the underside makes the quilting go faster??

Hmm! I have tried putting thimbles on all three of my fingers to keep them from getting pricked all the time but I have not gotten use to it. If I just cover one finger up I find I am using the others to feel the needle. I will have to look into this spoon thingie.
