I'm so glad I'm not alone in my carelessness! I make these kind of mistakes everyday though....

When I cut patches too small I incorporate them on the back of the quilt.

DUH!!!! Sigh.

Don't feel badly or beat yourself up. I have done that too and thought "where was my head? and what was I thinking?"

Just learning I have done that many times. I went back to the LQS and the lady asked what was I doing with all that fabric I just bought!! I told her," Learning to cut"!

There are lots worse mistakes than that. Cheer up. You probably won't make THAT mistake again!

All is not lost if you only cut a couple before you discovered your mistake. You can sew 1/4 in. on each side of your sewn center seam and cut them out on the center seam.

This reminded me of my Mom-I taught her how to sew /cut out patterns. her first project was a 3pc outfit for me,it took her all day 10 minutes before I got off the school bus she only had to hem the skirt-she pinned it up then sewed it up -into a pillow case -needless to say this was my favorite outfit and I passed it on to my Grand-daughter who still has it to pass on to my GGD who is only 2 sizes away from a fit.I really miss my Mom
