If you would like to appliqué here is a link to a photo that has the angel with a nice border http://www.patternhutch.com/images/Wool_ROG0495.jpg

I love the border thimblebug suggested. Then you can put a dark plain border on it.

Just wanted to add, the previous borders have some special corner treatments, an applique border would be a great addition, especially focusing on the main areas of the borders and away from the corners.

It will be a nice size lap quilt just as it is. Leave it as is and then use a dark binding to make a dark frame. froggyintexas

How about a ribbon border?
If you do a search for this type of border, you will find many options.
Nice quilt!

I know what I'd do. I'd make a border of the scraps like what is in the corners of the quilt. This would give an interesting border look to the borders that are already there. Adding a plain solid border won't add anything but a plain solid border look.

A border of log cabins all around and then the applique border?! You can make the log cabins as large as you need and with the applique border it would be a show stopper!

After looking a your block I really had to look to see the border you put on it. I would repeat your border some extra squares worked in to make it stand out more. Perhaps the extra squares could be even with the ones in your block.

I would suggest the hourglass block or flying geese for this country style quilt. Very nice one too!

what about making 3 more angels similar to the one you've got & sew one onto the side of that one & 2 below that & you've got double size of what you started with...? [as long as you have enough fabric close to same colors]
