You all? for smaller projects like a placemat.... spray 'glue' it down with hairspray. Hey, it works for me and I know it's gonna wash out.

When you say "spray glue" do you mean basting spray?

I am sure it has its uses in crafts, however I would give it a second thought before I used it on anything I was sewing. It would need to be washable, watersoluable, and nonflammable. And, not stick to the needle. I, too love a good bargain (like the Harbor Freight rotary cutter blades) but I really think it thru first.

Thanks for the heads up. The headliner in my 94 Jeep has started to fall. Don't know why--only 17 yrs old and 207,000 miles. It's always run like a top and just squatted yesterday. That's my winter car--it has a heater but no ac.

I tried 3 different brands of hair spray and it did nothing. No adhesion at all.

Another thing you should consider when trying less expensive items. We all have a lot of$$ invested in our sewing machines. Do you really want to screw up your machine by using car glue????

Hopefully it will wash out well, but also be very careful about applying any heat, as this often makes the spray glue change the color of your fabric - especially white.
