A quilt ladder. How neat and what a great idea. I've decided
'that in my old age it is time for me to stop putting in drawers
and in cupboards. What I want to enjoy is out where we can all
enjoy it. Especially me.

And then there is my DH who displays all his dead animals on the walls--shoulder mounts, skulls, horns, etc. Thinking about hanging some of my quilts from the horns!LOL

Exactly! I have them all over - porch, living room, dining room, hanging, over couches, on a quilt rack, in bedrooms, I just love them - old ones and ones I've made. I did put away some of the valuable ones because our house is on the market and didn't want them to disappear.

Life is too short to worry about what other people think. Time for us to please ourselves.

We very seldom have visitors at our home aside from family. They know its my "thing" and if they think its weird they havent said so. I switch them around real often.I am at a place in my life where I live in surroundings that make ME comfy. Its my home,my space, and if people dont like it they know which door they came in.LOL!

PLUS - IT DOES THE QUILTS GOOD TO GET SOME AIR - NOT GOOD TO BE ALL BUNDLED UP IN A CLOSET ALL THE TIME EITHER!

Don't let a thoughtless (and tactless) remark discourage you from displaying your beautiful quilts where you can enjoy them on a daily basis. I love to visit my friends' homes because they are all so different from mine and yet a terrific reflection of who they are. Some are modern, some traditional, some cluttered, some tidy--but all wonderful and warm and welcoming. I'm sure your home is equally lovely and reflects the kind of person you are. Most people love to look at quilts. If your relative doesn't, that's her misfortune.

I personally think that after we spend as much time on something as we do on quilts, it is only natural that we want to enjoy them for a long time. We work hard to make them pretty, so why not see them?
