I did something similar. I left the shipping boards that were attached to the base of my machine cabinet attached. My foot pedal fits between them so there is no slippage.

This is one of the best tips I have read. Here I was thinking you were going to say put the hook side of Velcro on the bottom of the pedal, but your way is ingenious.

Thank you so very much for sharing.

I ordered 2 of them from Amazon yesterday. Thanks for the tip!

With that mat in place under your sewing desk, sit where you are comfortable sewing and determine the most comfortable place for your foot to operate the pedal. Leave the pedal in that place, and mark around it with a thin permanent marker or whatever works. Remove the mat and cut the pedal shape out of it on the marked line. I used a rotary blade. When you replace the door mat your foot pedal will fit into the hole and not slide around at all.
This is the Best idea I've seen for this problem. it makes good sense as well. I'm ashamed I didn't think of it.

Fantastic ideas for a nagging problem I have battled for years. That grippy rug stuff never was a solution for me at all. At last I'll get control of this control thingy! Thanks!

Same here!
Also, one of my Pfaff foot pedals works better when I turn it upside down and it doesn't move. Crazy, right?
