True cost of making a quilt, part 2
#11
As a Quilter, the cost is not a concern to me BUT it is finding the right HOME for it that concerns me!!!!!
I don't want to go and see it under a car!!!!, Puppies being born on it!!! or in a closet!!!!![lol lol heard it here]
I want to know it will be loved and used on the bed where it should be.... That is my priceless moment!!!
but that is just me......

I just had to figure out the cost for two quilts both approx 63x63, okay now I purchased all the fabric at joann's With coupons including batting and thread (sale or coupon)
Fabric $5 a yard x 12 yards= $60
Thread = $10 (high est, but I use sulky)
Batting = $20 (queen packaged warm & natural)
Total materials only= $100 ( with tax)
Our time to piece, quilt and add love = PRICELESS

Factoring in the true costs in material, supplies, and labour, is nothing in compared to that priceless moment!!!!!!

Here are three I gave away today to a visiting Lithuanian pastor's wife. She was delighted to get them! (We make a lot of charity quilts for people who can use them.)

One thing for sure, except for the "value" of my time, I will never spend as much making a quilt as I've spent on the 2 I purchased  (prior to ever dreaming of taking this up as a hobby).
