I think the quilt is adorable!!! I agree with your husband. Finally someone who knows the quilts are much more than just fabric and some gas to go to the shop. Even a quilt made for someone else has your love in it.

I agree with NJ Quilter! It's custom work and was greatly appreciated.

Your husband has the right idea. Consider it a great compliment from the grandpa.

Be thankful that someone realizes what our time and effort is. Most people don't want to pay for labor at all. They think we did it for fun! Glad to see that the gentleman liked your work.

Grandpa has obviously worked for a living before. Accept graciously.

I think your quilt is beautiful. The way you embroidered the lady bugs on the bottom and the nine patches make it anything but simple. Hopefully he will want you to make him more quilts !

You should know that the rule of thumb for crafters in charging for there products is to take the cost and times it by 3. So he simply added in .5 for his appreciation of your work. Always accept graciously your payment since you earned it and remember for the future to charge at least 3 times your costs. They might not like it but would they like there pay checks shorted since their boss dose not feel they are worth it. Have fun quilting and I liked your embroidery very nice addition to make a simple treasure mom and baby will enjoy.
